Apple accidentally leaked the design of the iPhone 8
Often interesting details about unannounced devices are in the firmware for other devices of the manufacturer. Earlier this month Apple seeded the first build of the system HomePod to the authors of the apps asked software parts of the accessory. Developer Steve Trouton Smith reviewed the published code and found it mention infrared scanner individuals iPhone 8 and the first official scheme of the smartphone.
Smith explained that the code is BiometricKit — shell, which is responsible for Touch ID. The new sensor was the code name Pearl ID and supports the scanning of partially covered entities at a different angle.
We will remind, earlier insiders expect the scanner to complete replacement of the Touch ID, but were not confident in the level of its safety. The code showed that Pearl ID features a photo and a 3D model from a real person, so to fool the sensor will not work.
In the code of Apple Pay, Smith also found a render of the new iPhone 8, code-named D22. File kept in the form of animations with vector images so Apple retains images for different resolutions.
Possible prior to releasing the device the company will change its design, but the information can be considered reliable. Thanks to the diagram are visible to the particular location of elements on the front panel, so in the near future enthusiasts will create informal renderings, given the leaked sketch.
