Asian countries are leaders in Internet speed (3 photos)
The consortium M-Lab analyzed data for over 190 countries and ranked the States providing the highest speed Internet. The leader, according to the report, was Singapore. Numerous citizens and guests of this city-state can enjoy at 55,13 MB/s. In Taiwan, the figure was 34,40 Mbps.
In practice, this means that on downloading film in HD quality in Singapore will take only 18 minutes. For comparison: in Russia, performing the same tasks will need half an hour — in our country the average download speed of 11.6 Mbps. Such measures have allowed to take 43 place in the rating.
Slightly better things in the UK, USA and Canada (16.5–20 Mbps; 31, 21, and 26 places in the ranking respectively). More than average from such countries as Croatia (12,57 MB/s), Italy (to 10.71 Mbps), Israel (7.2 Mbps). Much worse with high technology in Gabon, Yemen and Burkina Faso. They are completing the second hundred of the ranking with 0.3–0.4 Mbps.
In many ways, the results are determined by the government’s interest in the development of it. So, the only European country that had come loose in the top three was Sweden. She took second place from 40.2 Mbit/s. Also in the top ten Denmark, the Netherlands and Latvia. They have provided access to broadband Internet at speeds of 30-35 Mbps.
Most likely, Singapore and Taiwan in the near future still have to take their positions. Shanghai in the near future intends to become the first city in the world where traffic will be available with download speeds up to 1 Gbps.
