Gamers rarely know the name of Russell Brower, but his music heard by many in the past 12 years, the composer created soundtracks for games Studio Blizzard. The Brower worked as a senior engineer and noted in projects of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, Overwatch, StarCraft 2, Diablo III and Hearthstone. On his page in the Facebook Brower said that his career came to an end, and his position was reduced.
“As the company grew, the team’s sound also changed, and the last couple of years was no exception, writes Russell. — Successful in decentralizing the office has made my position as senior sound designer and composer unnecessary.”
The Brower will continue to work at Blizzard as a freelancer and also releasing a solo album. Earlier, the composer was working at WBIE, NovaLogic and Disney received three Emmy awards.
“I want to thank everyone who reads this, all of our players, music lovers, and my many friends from around the world for the experiences I enjoyed while working at Blizzard. Separately thank the players: each of you has enriched our lives, when we played in our projects, attended Nerdtacular and BlizzCon, went to our shows, enjoying our albums with soundtracks and music — the list is endless. We are proud of, and I am grateful to every colleague from Blizzard for 12 years of my training,” — said former employee of the Studio.
Soundtrack Brower for World of Warcraft got on the alley of fame Classic FM in 2014. The editors singled out the music for the track “Invincible” for the Wrath of the Lich King.
