Google began work on Android 9 (Android, R)
Not had time to subside passion for Android Oreo, as Google announced that they had begun work on new Android OS 9.0 or Android R. or Rather not announced, but on the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) there was a tag called “master-p”.
Three commits indicate that Google is already testing Android on Google P Pixel (sailfish) and Google Pixel XL (marlin).
Of course, this may be speculation for heating interest. Maybe Google is preparing to release Android 8.1 to run on Google and Google Pixel 2 Pixel 2 XL. This was the case with Android Nougat MR1 (7.1), released with the first generation Google Pixel and Pixel XL. And perhaps it is still the ninth version. After all, there is precedent for skipping updates and the release of the next version, as in the case of Android Marshmallow. Android 6.1 update never saw the light of day.
Hard to say yet that we will see the result — whether the update, or a new completely new version of OSes. But it is obvious — Google is likely to have already decided on a new set of features. And this set is likely to pull on the new version of the OS. And this means that over the next few months we will deal with guessing the sweets with the letter “R”. Experts have already started to argue about this. And here are some of the assumptions about Android R: Pastille (candy), Pancake (pancake), Profiterole (profiteroles), Petit Four (Petit fours), Pound Cake (pound cake), Popsicle (ice pop), Puff Pastry (puff pastry cake), Pecan Pie (pecan pie). And what name is most like you?
