Legendary firmware Paranoid Android is back and is based on Android 7.1.2
For all time of existence of Android on the basis of this system was released a lot of the major custom firmwares that are available on a large number of devices. One of them was Paranoid Android. In 2015 a large part of its founders moved the company OnePlus to work on OxygenOS, and since then the project did not develop. In June last year, the team met again, with new employees, and announced about the revival of the Paranoid Android. And now, a year later, the developers announced the release of the firmware. It is based on latest version of Android 7.1.2 Nougat called Paranoid Android 2017.
Paranoid Android 2017 includes the most popular features of previous versions along with many new. Firmware provides many opportunities for customizing the user interface. For example, the Color Engine feature, available in settings, allows the user to change the color palette of the system and to include the now popular dark theme.
Interestingly, the smartphones Nexus will be available in different exclusive functions. These include advanced control buttons and gestures, improved fingerprint scanner and camera, as well as support the corporate switch.
At the moment, 2017 Paranoid Android is only supported on the following devices:
- Google Pixel;
- Google Pixel XL;
- OnePlus 3;
- OnePlus 3T;
- Nexus 5X;
- Nexus 6P.
Soon the developers promise to add support for Nexus 5, OnePlus One, OnePlus 2, OnePlus X and Nextbit Robin. Download the firmware from the official site.
