LEGO has released a model of the Saturn V rocket that launched man to the moon

LEGO is no stranger to release sets on the space theme. For the first time the company has released a line of Space in 1978, and since then, fans of the designer has constructed hundreds of different space ships both real and fictional. But today LEGO announced the release of a new set, which, apparently, will trump any other: a model of the Saturn V rocket was the main rocket of the American lunar program, Apollo.

What can be build?

Set called NASA Apollo Saturn V looks incredible, because the box is not just a missile, and a full moon at the Apollo. The model is divided into three stages (like a real rocket) and has the top of the command module, as well as boarding. There are even extra parts, allowing you to demonstrate the landing of the lander in the ocean. The constructor consists of 1969 pieces (the year of the first landing of man on the moon) and is the highest set ever released LEGO – length equal to a meter. It is 110 times smaller than the real Saturn V.

This project originated in the LEGO Ideas program where experienced builders designers present various concepts for consideration by the company, and the large numbers of LEGO fans. After that, the sets could be in production, as happened with the Saturn V. a model Kit is scheduled to release on 1 June, the price in the U.S. will be quite adequate $ 120.
