NASA has selected astronauts for long journeys into space

Of the 18 thousand people NASA has selected 12 U.S. citizens to fly in deep space, including to Mars.

Who collected?

The team consists of five women and seven men – engineers, biologists, physicists, pilots, doctors, NASA scientists and employees of SpaceX. The age of the candidates is between 20 to 41 years. The selection was based not only on physical but also on psychological characteristics, the possession of those or other practical skills, and so on. Now they are about two years training under a special programme flight to the ISS, training, piloting of new ships Boeing, SpaceX and Lockheed. In addition, on their shoulders rests the flight beyond low earth orbit and preparing the expedition to Mars.
