Nintendo introduced the New portable console 2DS XL

Released in March console Nintendo Switch allows you to play on the go, but it is not a replacement 3DS portable systems, the family which has added a new model, New Nintendo 2DS XL. As the name suggests, it displays the image in 2D without three-dimensional effects, and the rest of the console is not inferior to the older New 3DS XL.

New design

Announced in 2013, the original “flat” Nintendo 2DS is like a big Tetris, but the New 2DS XL the company returned to foldable design. The console has the computing power of the New 3DS XL and feature a 4.88 inch main display, the left and the C-stick with NFC-chip (necessary for communication with Amiibo). Novelty has become more compact and lighter (260 grams). In 2D, you can run any Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS.

The portable console of Nintendo is not going anywhere. During the past fiscal year, the Japanese company has sold more than 7 million 3DS systems, and it expects to sell another 6 million (+10 million home consoles Switch).

How much is it?

New Nintendo 2DS XL will go on sale July 28 for $150 in the US. It’s $50 cheaper than the New 3DS XL, but $70 more expensive than the 2DS. Simultaneously with the new Nintendo released several new games, including Pikmin Hey! and Miitopia.
