New SD card SanDisk ready to work in extreme conditions
Western Digital introduced a new line of memory cards SanDisk SD and microSD designed specifically for automated and specialised industrial applications. The manufacturer claims that these cards can operate in extreme conditions because it is equipped of condition monitoring and special storage mechanisms. They are faster than predecessors, making maps better suited for tasks such as shooting commercial unmanned aerial vehicles and embedded in cars, cameras.
Part of the new line of SanDisk includes four models with different characteristics. SD card Automotive is focused on unmanned aerial vehicles, automobiles and other vehicles. They are presented in versions from 8 to 64 GB and is compatible with AEC-Q100 Grade 3. These cards can work for a long time even in extreme temperatures from -40 ºC to 85 ºC.
Industrial cards are available in SD (from 8 to 64 GB) and microSD card (8 to 128 GB). They can also withstand moderate to extreme temperature range from -25 ºC to 85 ºC and read files at speeds up to 80 MB/s and write at a speed of 50 MB/s.
SanDisk also introduced the map XI Industrial SD designed for industrial purposes, when working at temperatures below -40 ºC. The function of Power Protection can help prevent data corruption when the power when writing data is lost or unstable, and protect the Read Disturbance of the memory cells during intensive reading.
The cost of new cards has yet to be announced.
