Qualcomm Snapdragon 660: characteristics, tests, and other details
OCTA-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processors 630 and 660 replaced the chips, the Snapdragon 625 and 653. Models use the same process technology FinFET, but the performance and the energy efficiency has increased significantly: both platforms have received support Quick Charge and Bluetooth 4.0 5, as well as faster modem. Greater interest is the successor to the Snapdragon 653 — 660 Snapdragon — since this chip can provide smartphones in the medium price class features of flagship devices.
Features Qualcomm Snapdragon 660
660 got the Snapdragon GPU Adreno 512 and LTE modem, the Snapdragon X12 download speeds of 600 Mbps. unlike 653 Snapdragon processor with four cores Cortex-A72 with a frequency of 1.92 GHz and four cores Cortex-A53 c of 1.44 GHz, it uses four cores Kryo 260, which operate at 1.8 GHz, and four high-performance cores Kryo 260 with a clock frequency of 2.2 GHz. The processor supports 2×2 MU-MIMO 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, which provides twice the throughput and up to 60% less power consumption at load compared to the Snapdragon 652.
The platform received a new CPU for image processing Spectra 160 ISP, support auto-focus, features smooth optical zoom and video stabilization. Thanks to this improved image quality including in low light, and made possible more efficient energy consumption with higher performance for smartphones with dual cameras.

In addition, the devices based on mobile platform Snapdragon 660 using the Snapdragon SDK Neural Processing Engine support machine learning technology. The chipset offers support Caffe/Caffe2 and TensorFlow, through which developers can customize and process neural network-core Snapdragon corresponding to the power profile and performance of required functions — CPU, GPU or DSP/HVX.
