Huawei, which produces high-quality flagships and confidently absorbing the middle class with their smartphones, decided to release a budget – Huawei Y3 II. It will be interesting to learn how the company was able to maintain possibilities of the smartphone and lower the price, had to save.
More proposals coming from China, every manufacturer is trying something to stand out against its competitor. Additional features of Huawei Y3 II also will be disclosed in this review.

About the brightness of his proposal Huawei hints, pack Y3 II, the orange box, inside of which is:
- USB cable
Design Huawei Y3 II is difficult to call unique, the appearance is typical for an inexpensive Chinese smartphone. Dimensions are far from subtle, the smartphone has a body thickness of 9.9 mm.
Over the 4.5-inch screen at the center is the company logo above the speaker grille and front facing 2 MP camera. Under the standard screen is a touch of a button. As expected, the buttons are not highlighted, this is typical for state employees.
Case Huawei Y3 II of plastic, but due to the structure it could be confused with metal. Original design adds a visual to the high cost of the smartphone. On the rear side of the upper part in the center is a 5 MP camera and left the flash module. Around the camera has a ring that looks like a traditional protective, but its main functionality is different. About this particular Huawei II Y3 will be discussed later.
In the lower part of the back cover is an elongated latticed multimedia speaker.
On the left side are the keys on/off and adjust the volume. The right button has special functionality, called Smart Key is the main feature of Huawei Y3 II, about which I would like to talk separately.
Under the hood you’ll find a removable battery capacity of 2100 mAh, two slots for SIM-card and under a separate microSD memory card. To expand the memory up to 32 GB.
Edge of the smartphone
At the top there is a 3.5 mm Jack for a headset. On the bottom — a microphone and a microUSB connector.
The upper and lower ends
The Assembly is a little disappoint, as noticeably heard a light crunch even with a weak pressing on the body. Especially abnormal sound is heard in places cuts provided for removing the back cover. Through case material the smartphone is not prone to accumulation of scratches.
But the intrigue are two features, which became famous Huawei Y3 II, and talk about them further.
As previously noticed, around main camera is a ring like a metallic, but actually it is rainbow plastic diode. Familiar to smartphone notification light located on the front side of the screen in the upper part, Huawei Y3 II is behind them is the ring around the camera. Rainbow diode, with the name Colorful Lights, informs you about missed calls, incoming notifications, and upcoming events from the calendar. But his appointment does not end in the tab More Funny provided for entertainment, diode is capable to translate English text into Morse code and flash to the beat of the music with different colors. The latter are unlikely to be often used and certainly are not a necessity, but thanks to the developers for a unique gift. By the way, the color of the diode can be configured individually for different notifications and to immediately determine the importance of incoming information, without unlocking the screen. And fans to put the phone screen down, so as not to be distracted by the toast, this is the location of the diode will fit anyone.
The second feature is the additional button Smart Key on the right side of the smartphone. Button recognizes three types of actions: click, double click and hold. Function allows you to start the flashlight, take photo, start audio or other app. Very convenient in the dark to quickly turn on the flashlight without having to unlock the screen and search for the flashlight. You can also take a picture and play the track. But if you want to activate access to the application, the screen needs to be unlocked. User security is not compromised, in a locked state Smart Key provides access only to the technical tasks.
Huawei Y3 II has a 4.5-inch display with average brightness and contrast. The glass is not protected and does not have oleophobic coating, which will cause accumulation on the screen of fingerprints. In turn, his absence has not affected the quality of the use of swipe-typing.
The display, whose resolution of 854×480 pixels, viewing angles are small, even when in direct sight visible differences in color between the upper and lower parts of the picture. The same can be said about color reproduction at maximum level of brightness the colors are a bit faded, but overall the picture looks much better than at the minimum level. As for the public sector, the availability of automatic adjustment of brightness — very positive response.
Display Huawei Y3 II supports two simultaneous touches. May be unequal sensitivity across the surface, closer to the edges to deteriorate. Disable Touch in settings-disable mode (mode protects against false positives of the display in the pocket), this problem was avoided.
The main 5 MP camera Huawei Y3 II has a dual LED flash and autofocus. The images are good, with good color and detail. The interface provides a lot of different modes, including time lapse, HDR, Decoration and View. Use of HDR is not particularly convenient, because between frames, there is a big delay, of course, due to the budget of the proposal, so in the evening to avoid graininess.
A pleasant surprise was the ability to remove the Huawei Y3 II enough high-quality Full HD video. Configured to provide the activation of the stabilization.
The sound in Huawei Y3 II, though it has no surround sound loud, clean and free of hoarseness, even at the maximum level. Enough for an alarm or ringtone. PR listening to music through a headset quality is not lost. Interlocutor can hear well, both indoors and outside.
Permanent memory in the phone with just 8GB, given that half of it is already occupied, the remaining space will last only for application software, one or two games, several dozen photographs and a pair of three short videos. USB OTG in Huawei Y3 II is not supported so you should immediately consider buying a memory card (maximum capacity — up to 32 GB).
The side faces and the back side Huawei Y3 II is one, to guess what the cover is removed and underneath is a removable battery, difficult. Battery capacity is not the biggest — 2100 mAh, but it is enough for 6-7 hours of HD video playback and 4-5 hours of web surfing over 3G. The settings allows power saving mode.
Smartphone fully charged in about 2.5 hours.
Huawei Y3 II running Android 5.1 Lollipop with a proprietary shell Emotion UI Lite 3.1, provides quick and functional access from the lock screen. The function is a Simple Screen provided by the developers, will be useful to fans of 8/10 and Windows users with vision problems. Shell, you can control the smartphone with gestures is also quite a lot of pre-installed software, for example, photo editor Facetune.
Huawei Y3 II is equipped with a processor MediaTek MT6582M. Without problems will be able to play solitaire and something like the Impossible Game, Two Dots. Angry Birds a little spoiled the impression of a lack of anti-aliasing, but you can play. Even managed to get Modern Combat 5.
Install a heavy application tends to slow down the work Y3 II. The interface of the OS runs fast, but thanks to the availability of disabling basic animations, speed is slightly increased.
Huawei Y3 II is the only smartphone with low price, there is always something to compare. For example, the same Doogee X5 Max with a better display, camera, running on Android 6.0 and having the fingerprint scanner, not less available. At the same time, the dimensions of the X5 Max makes it heavy and not for everyone as attractive in contrast to the universal dimensions of Huawei Y3 II. Special functionality Huawei Y3 II highlights it and makes it unique among other state employees. Huawei Y3 II is a great smartphone urban type, which has optimal size, durable build, all necessary for normal user functionality, good sound and low cost.
