Corporation Samsung announced in their press release that has mastered the 11-nanometer technology FinFET, known as Low Power Plus. In the first half of 2018, the company intends to start production using this technology.
The press release notes that the 11-nanometer technology is developing and scaling early 14-nanometer manufacturing process. It provides a reduction of transistors by 10% and increases productivity by 15% at the same power supply.
The company also confirmed that the development of lithographic technology 7LPP with the technology of Extreme Ultra Violet (EUV) is performed on schedule and production will begin in the second half of 2018.
As stated by the head of Foundry Marketing at Samsung Electronics Ryan Lee, the company added 11-nanometer process to its road map, which will allow it to remain at the forefront in the field of microelectronics.
According to Ryan Lee: “the Extension of portfolio 11-nanometer process technology will give Samsung the ability to offer new possibilities for various applications. Due to this, Samsung will finish the transition from 14 to 11, 10, 8 and 7 nanometers in the next three years.”
