The FAS had announced the date of cancellation of roaming in Russia
The Federal Antimonopoly service of Russia has determined the timing of the abolition of national roaming. This was stated by Deputy head of FAS Anatoly Golomolzin after the meeting, the Ministry of communications with operators. The abolition of roaming charges is already being considered by the antitrust authorities in the framework of the initiated case. His consideration was given three months, but if necessary, the period may be extended for another six months. The head of FAS Igor Artemyev also reassured all subscribers, saying that the price of the connection after the removal of intranet roaming will not grow.
“We will strongly promote the removal of unnecessary barriers, because the company should step forward to the consumer and, in General, to lose, of course, certain resources. We let them and we will try to help on behalf of the government, these barriers were removed and they expanded their business so they can earn more on the back. And thus everything will remain in a good mood. And we actually agreed”, — said Igor Artemyev.
Earlier this month it became known that the FAS plans to resolve all issues with in-network roaming of operators “the big four” until the end of 2017. Now the Antimonopoly service has announced a new date for the abolition of roaming charges inside the country — 15 December 2017. In addition, the operators of the “big four” (“VimpelCom” MTS “MegaFon” and “T2 mobile”) are required to provide monthly reports on the execution of the task. FAS expects that the issue of the abolition of national roaming in Russia will be solved within nine months. According to Igor Artemyev, the complete removal of intranet roaming is expected in the next year.
