Known for his data storage devices, Verbatim has introduced a new kind of polypropylene for 3D printers. The material has a high level of resistance to heat, chemical attack and, of course, wear and tear. He also has a high degree of flexibility.

What is polypropylene?

Polypropylene is a thermoplastic polymer, which is almost universally used in the industry. Of him to do all sorts of things – from food packaging to some parts and even banknotes in some countries. A new type of material lets you use 3D printing to create prototypes and products for the automotive and pharmaceutical industry, for the production of toys, especially for those applications where objects are exposed to chemical attack. The objects that are printed from this polypropylene by extrusion, extremely durable and tough. Their surface is very smooth.

Thanks to the resistance to the effects of different factors, including acids, alkalis and organic solvents the new polypropylene will be able to solve problems that were previously inaccessible 3D printing. Moreover, the material is compatible with the vast majority of 3D printers including MakerBot, Leapfrog, and iMaker.
