Space diamond rains scientifically proven
A team of specialists under the management of Dominic Krause spent in the laboratory experiment proving the theory of the existence of rain of diamonds inside the icy planets of the solar system – Neptune and Uranus.
Using creating a shock wave laser is the U.S. SLAC National accelerator laboratory aimed at the plastic surface that mimicked located in the depths of the icy planets in the compound methane, the scientists created high blood pressure. Modelled simulation of the conditions allowed to confirm that the hydrogen atoms and liquid carbon hardens with time. To produce the crystals, who flock to the centers of planets. In terrestrial conditions, their sizes were negligible (not more than a few nanometers), but according to theoretical calculations, on the ice planet, the weight can exceed four hundred pounds.
At the same time experts specify that, in practice, confirm the theory and to extract the valuable resource in this stage of development will not work — the pressure of the planets is too high and used today spacecraft will not stand it.
