911 Bug Strikes Some Pixel 6 Series Phones Yet Again

The Google Pixel 6 series smartphones had their fair share of bugs since launch. One of those bugs was discovered last year, as it prevented phones from dialing 911. That bug was fixed really fast, but still, it was really annoying. Well, believe it or not, some Pixel 6 series phones are having problems with dialing 911 yet again, as a new bug emerged.

911 bug is back, some Pixel 6 series phones are affected

Users have reported the issue via both Reddit and Google’s support forums. This actually applies for both 911 in the US and 000 in Australia, both of which are emergency services.

This bug doesn’t seem to be affecting everyone, just a small number of users, but still, it’s a considerable problem. Emergency services should be accessible at all times, regardless of the device you’re using to contact them.

The bug seems to be affecting mainly Pixel 6 and Pixel 6a users. The reports actually go back a couple of months, though the users who reported the issues still haven’t updated to the October security patch. So, we cannot confirm whether that fixed the issue or not.

Needless to say, dialing emergency services can be the difference between life and death, and they should always be available. Let’s hope Google resolved this issue with the October security update.

The Pixel 6 & Pixel 6 Pro had their fair share of bugs since launch

The Pixel 6 series had its fair share of problems since the launch last year. That goes mainly for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, as the Pixel 6a launched over half a year later, and was relatively bug-free.

Now, one may say that Google is having all those issues with bugs due to its first proprietary chip, the Google Tensor. Truth be said, Google did resolve the vast majority of those bugs fairly quickly. Still, there were a lot of them.

These are also not the first flagships from the company which had considerable issues with bugs, so… let’s hope that the same won’t happen with the Pixel 7 series.
