A Revamped Google Photos Editor In The Works, New UI Coming

A new leak by reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong suggests that Google is working on bringing a revamped and new look to its Google Photos app editor interface.

Notably, the changes are associated with the Google Photos editor interface. As per the tweet posted by Wong, the screenshots attached to it shows a refreshed UI for the Google Photos editor app.

Moreover, it seems like the new revamped Photos editor app is under the testing phase and is available to select users. As it is not been spotted by any of the regular users of Google Photos like us.

In fact, taking a look at the images shared by Wong reveals that a new set of options appear over the Cancel and Save Copy buttons. The first option is the Suggestions. Which we believe will provide image enhancements using Artificial Intelligence.

The carousel now displays all the options with icons and labels like Auto, B&W, Color Pop, etc. Noticeably, the Crop and angular adjustments options now have a separate tab of their own.

Basically, this makes it easier for the user to tweak their image using these options. However, now in the new Google Photos editor app, Markup and third-party extensions are now placed under the More category.

The More option also lets you save the file to the Gallery. Besides, you can now further tweak in third-party apps like Snapseed or VSCO.

The share button now provides the option to share directly with Snapseed. As previously, users would have to share it onto Snapseed to tweak the image further.

Looking at the comments on the tweet, it highlights that the color-pop features are now available for non-pixel devices as well. If that is the reality, then it is something to cheer about.

Notably, the buttons in the redesigned Google Photos editor app is larger than what we have currently. Point to note is that nothing is confirmed as of yet.

Since this information comes un-officially, we would advise our readers to take this information with a pinch of salt. The earlier update released back in June introduced the three-tab structure to the editor app.

The earlier update also brought large thumbnails for photos and videos. In fact, introduced a new icon and redesigned the Google Photos app. Well, users were not pretty happy with the new update as they now had more learning curve to use Google Photos.

As always, we will keep a tab on any further developments in this regard. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts on whether you liked this new design of the Google Photos editor interface.
