Acer Is Launching A Glasses-Free 3D Gaming Monitor

Acer today announced a new gaming monitor capable of glasses-free 3D. But, that’s not all. The Acer SpatialLabs View is also a portable monitor. So you can take it with you wherever you go. It measures 15.6-inches and comes with a 4K resolution, making for crisp, clear visuals for any of your games or other entertainment. It also weighs just 3.3 lbs. and is thin enough to easily fit in your bag.

Acer says the SpatialLabs View provides 400 nits of brightness, which is more than its Predator X34 ultrawide gaming monitor. Basically, it’s plenty bright for any of your gaming needs and should have little to no problem with glare.

There is one problem though if you’re looking for something affordable. This ain’t it. Acer has set the price tag at a whopping $1,099. And for that price, you could buy an entire gaming laptop. Then again, you wouldn’t buy this monitor because it’s an affordable option. You’d be buying it for the 3D feature and its portability.

Acer SpatialLabs View monitor adds stereoscopic 3D to gaming

If you’ve never experienced stereoscopic 3D before, it’s truly something else. Gaming in 3D is an even more awe-inspiring experience. Which is what Acer seems to be going for here.

While the monitor’s stereoscopic 3D won’t support every single game out there, the platform already works with over 50 games. Including AAA hits like God Of War, Forza Horizon 5, Nier Replicant, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It also supports a range of indie titles like Anno Mutationem and No Man’s Sky.

Acer says the monitor can also work as a standard 4K monitor for when you aren’t interested in using the stereoscopic 3D.

Alongside the SpatialLabs View it’s also launching the SpatialLabs View Pro which is geared more towards content creation and business. The company hasn’t mentioned a firm release date yet nor has it said anything about where you can pick it up. It will be launching in the US though and Acer plans to begin selling it this Summer.

You can check out a quick trailer of the monitor below to get an idea of how it works.
