Android 11 Starts Rolling Out For Verizon Moto G Power

Verizon has started rolling out the Android 11 update for one of Motorola’s popular mid-range smartphones launched last year, the Moto G Power.

The unlocked models started receiving the Android 11 update earlier this month. And joining the bandwagon is the Verizon model of the Moto G Power.

To recall, Moto G Power came with Snapdragon 665 coupled with 4GB of RAM. Under the hood, the phone was pre-loaded with Android 10. The display on the phone measures 6.4-inches and is a 1080p screen.

At the back, there is a triple camera setup that houses a 16MP primary camera sensor. Whereas for selfies, there is a 16MP sensor inside the punch-hole on the display.

Apart from adding all the latest features of Android 11, the latest Verizon Moto G Power update also bumps the security patch level to April 2021.

As per the changelog of the update, it brings chat bubbles, streamlined media controls, enhancements for video calling, one-time permissions, etc.

Along with all these features, you will also get other Android 11 goodies. For more information, you can visit the official Verizon Moto G Power system update page.

The update arrives with firmware version RPM31.Q1-54-13

The Verizon Moto G Power Android 11 update arrives with firmware version RPM31.Q1-54-13. Notably, the update, as usual, is rolling out via OTA in batches.

This means not every Verizon Moto G Power unit will receive the Android 11 update at the same time. The process is gradual and it may take some time to reach every smartphone.

That said, if you haven’t received the update yet, then you can manually check for it. In order to do so, you need to head over to the Settings menu. Then tap on About Phone. From here, tap on System Updates.

If a new update is available, then you need to tap on the notification to begin the download of the Android 11 update. Once the download is over, hit the Install button to install it on your Verizon Moto G Power smartphone.

The unlocked models, as already mentioned, have already picked up the updates in the US and some other countries. The good thing about this Verizon update is, unlike the unlocked models, which received the February security patch, it is coming with an April patch.

The update seems to be out for a couple of days. So it is advised that you watch out for the notification. If it is still not live for your device, then all you can do is probably wait for it.
