At This Price, Just Buy A TAG Heuer Watch Without Wear OS On It

TAG Heuer has a new smartwatch on the market powered by Wear OS called the Connected Calibre E4. It’ll cost you a minimum of $1,800 if you go with the base 42mm option, and it won’t come with Wear OS 3 out of the box. Nor will it really have any features that other much less expensive Wear OS smartwatches don’t have.

What it will come with is the luxury design that TAG Heuer watches are known for. Along with a little bit of prestige because, it’s a TAG Heuer watch. That being said, with a starting price of $1,800, your money is probably better spent on a regular TAG Heuer watch. It’ll likely last longer.

Granted, most of TAG Heuer’s current lineup will be thousands more than that. But there are a handful that TAG Heuer offers that will be around the same price as the Connected Calibre E4.

The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 comes in steel or titanium

If your mind is set on having a luxury smartwatch, there’s some good news here. The Connected Calibre E4 does have a Snapdragon Wear 4100+ inside. So that means it will be upgraded to Wear OS 3 at some point this year. You also have your choice of steel or titanium watch cases. The titanium of course is the more expensive option there.

It’ll set you back $2,500 and it comes with a 45mm black titanium case and a black rubber strap to match. The 45mm watches also come with a battery that’s 30% larger than their 42mm counterparts. So if you’re worried about battery life, you’ll probably want one of the 45mm versions.

The Connected Calibre E4 also comes with what TAG Heuer says is an exclusive sports app to help you “take on any challenge.” This is thanks to TAG Heuer’s own software that provides on-screen 7-minute guided workouts complete with animations. So you can exercise efficiently and make the most of it.

Other than that you’re looking at the standard stuff here. Built-in GPS, water resistance up to 50 meters, and an OLED display. And if you don’t like any of the black or stainless steel straps, you have options. An additional $200 can snag you a more colorful rubber strap of your choice to swap out.
