Check Out This Weird Ad For The Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition

Samsung is due to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip here soon and prior to that there’s now a new leaked ad for the phone in a Thom Browne Edition.

Thom Browne is a New York City-based fashion designer and brand, which has now apparently partnered with Samsung to make a special edition version of the flippable foldable.

Samsung has partnered with luxury brands before, so this isn’t really anything new or entirely unexpected. What’s more intriguing is the weird advertisement for this variant of the device.

You can see the ad for the Thom Browne model of the Galaxy Z Flip in the tweet video below. It’s definitely off the wall compared to most of Samsung’s other ads, and feels like the weird trailer for some upcoming Christopher Nolan film. But, it is high-end fashion, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

The Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition is no doubt expensive

I realize the last part of that statement sounds a little ridiculous. Because let’s face it the Galaxy Z Flip is already going to be an expensive device at its rumored $1,400+ cost.

But take another look at the Thom Brown version. It comes in larger, more high-end packaging. It also appears to come with a case, a pair of Galaxy Buds+, and a Galaxy Watch Active 2 all with a matching Thom Browne design.

There’s even an extra watch strap. With all of that, and with the Thom Browne name, this version of the phone is likely to cost upwards of $2,000 or more. Though since this hasn’t officially been announced there’s also no official price for it.

This isn’t the first time the phone has leaked in an ad either. Just over the weekend Samsung played a full-length ad for the phone during the Oscars.

It won’t be a global release

These sorts of special projects don’t always get global coverage. The Thom Brown Edition of this phone doesn’t appear to be any different.

The ad ends with a shot of the box and all of its contents. And just below that in the bottom right hand corner Samsung lists that it will only be available in certain countries. Which means it won’t be available everywhere.

Chances are that that has something to do with the fashion brand. It would make sense to target and release the phone in the countries where the brand itself and Samsung already have consumer reach.

A US and UK launch would be no surprise. Especially since Thom Browne is a fashion brand from the US. For now though there’s no official word on where you can pick this up.
