Flipkart Confirms Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Is Launching Tomorrow

Xiaomi is planning to launch new smartphones in India tomorrow, and Flipkart has confirmed that the Redmi Note 5 is coming. Many of us presumed that the Redmi Note 5 will be announced tomorrow, though that was not confirmed, until now. Granted, Flipkart confirmed that the Redmi Note 5 is coming by accident, but still, it’s now official. The company basically uploaded a new teaser to YouTube which was titled ‘Redmi Note 5’, soon after that, Flipkart changed the name of the video, so that it doesn’t reveal that the Redmi Note 5 is coming, but the cat is out of the bag.

That’s not all, though, the Redmi Note 5 name was mentioned in the source code of the official teaser page, which also suggested that the Redmi Note 5 is on the way. Now, some rumors are suggesting that the Redmi Note 5 will be identical to the Redmi 5 Plus, but that it will ship with a different name in India, while others suggest that it will be a completely new smartphone. Whatever the case may be, the Redmi 5 will probably be introduced alongside the Redmi Note 5, as that phone is still not available in India. Now, if the Redmi Note 5 ends up being the same as the Redmi 5 Plus, you pretty much know what to expect, it will be made out of metal, sport relatively thin bezels, and feature a 5.99-inch fullHD+ display, On top of that, the device will include 3GB or 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of native storage, and it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core SoC.

Now, a rumor surfaced yesterday, claiming that the Redmi Note 5 will be a completely new phone, while the device’s design and specs leaked as well. The design will be similar to the Redmi 5 Plus’ design, if that leak is to be believed, but the phone’s side bezels will be thinner. The phone will sport a 5.99-inch fullHD+ display, just like the Redmi 5 Plus, but it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 636 64-bit octa-core SoC instead. A 4,100mAh non-removable battery was also mentioned, while the phone is rumored to sport 16 and 5-megapixel snappers on the back, while a single 8-megapixel camera will be included on its front side.
