How To Watch Super Bowl LII on Android

The 52nd Super Bowl is taking place on February 4th, which will see the New England Patriots taking on the Philadelphia Eagles (both of which were #1 seeds in their prospective conferences). The Super Bowl is the biggest game of the year, of any sport. It will garner more eyes than really any other sporting event, and each year, the number of viewers continues to rise. But with so many people cutting the cord these days, it’s getting a bit tougher to watch the game. However, the NFL and NBC (the network where the game is being broadcast this year), have made it easier than ever to watch. So here are a few ways to watch the game.

How To Watch Super Bowl LII on Android

DIRECTV NOW

If you have DIRECTV NOW, you can watch the game through the app – which is available on Android, iOS, Fire TV and Roku TV right now. DIRECTV NOW does have NBC in most markets, however, if NBC is not available in your area, you do have the option of using the NBC app, which we’ll talk more about later on. But you’ll be able to sign in under DIRECTV NOW as your TV provider. Now if you haven’t signed up for DIRECTV NOW yet, you can sign up for a free 7-day trial and watch the Super Bowl for free, essentially, which is a really good deal. But DIRECTV NOW does have a couple of other deals available, including pre-paying for a month and getting a free Roku Streaming Stick, or pre-paying for four months and getting a free Apple TV. You can sign up using the link below.

Sling TV

Like DIRECTV NOW, Sling TV will also be broadcasting the game on NBC affiliates, which is actually available in quite a few markets as well. Of course, if it’s not available in your area, you can still sign into the app using Sling TV as your provider. Sling TV does also offer a free 7-day trial for its service. Sling TV actually starts at $20/month and has a slew of channels you can choose from and add to your account. So you end up with just the channels you want and/or care about, which is definitely important. Sling TV is also available on more platforms, including Android TV, so you can stream it on the NVIDIA SHIELD TV with ease. Like DIRECTV NOW, Sling TV does also have a neat promo available, if you pre-pay for 3 months, you’ll get half off of the Roku Ultra (so it’ll be $49.99 instead of $99).

NBC Sports App

Using the NBC Sports app, which is available on most platforms even on smart TV’s, you’ll be able to stream the Super Bowl as well as pre-game and post-game coverage. Now you may need to login to the app using your TV provider, and if you have a cord-cutting service like Sling TV or DIRECTV NOW, that is possible. NBC could also opt to make it available for everyone for free (which does normally happen, but so far, there’s nothing official from NBC about that just yet). And if you are going to be watching the Winter Olympics in late-February, this is the app to use as well, since NBC will be streaming those as well, through its own app.

NFL Mobile App

If you’re a Verizon customer, you’ll want to use the NFL Mobile app. Only Verizon customers are able to stream games on smartphones through the NFL Mobile app, thanks to the partnership that Verizon and the NFL have. So while you can watch it on the NBC Sports app, it’s not possible on a smartphone, but you can do it on a tablet or a TV. A bit confusing, but still good news for Verizon users.
