Huawei is allegedly planning to re-release its 2019 mid-range phone with Google services. The device in question is the Huawei P Smart 2019, which will be named the P Smart 2020 this time around.

This information comes from Roland Quandt, a well-known tipster. He does note that the new model will offer a few design changes, USB-C charging, and more memory, but that’s about it.

The source also shared the design of the upcoming phone. As you can see, its back side looks different from the one on the 2019 model. The phone will include a flat display with a dewdrop display notch.

Its bottom bezel will be considerably thicker than the rest of them, while all of its physical buttons will sit on the right. A capacitive fingerprint scanner will sit on the back of the phone, along with Huawei’s branding.

The device will pack in two cameras on the back, and they will be vertically-aligned. Right below those two cameras, the company will include an LED flash. All of those sensors will be a part of the same camera module.

The phone will feature a 6.21-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) LCD display. The Kirin 710F will fuel this smartphone, and that is not exactly the newest chip that Huawei has to offer, far from it.

It will offer more RAM and storage than the 2019 variant

The 2019 variant of this phone included 3GB of RAM, while this model will pack in 4GB. It will also ship with 128GB of internal storage, which is upgraded from 64GB. The phone will also offer microSD card storage expansion.

The camera situation is unchanged. The phone will include a 13-megapixel main sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. A single 8-megapixel camera will be included on the front.

A 3,400mAh battery will be a part of this package as well, though this time around you’ll use a Type-C USB port to charge it. The previous model included a microUSB port.

The phone will also include an NFC chip, Bluetooth 4.2, and a headphone jack. Android 9 Pie will be accompanied by Huawei’s EMUI 9.1 skin, along with Google services.

The phone will ship in Aurora, Green, and Black color variants. We’re not yet sure when will this phone make it to the market, but based on the report, it is expected to arrive soon. There you have it, it seems like Huawei is planning to re-release a 2019 phone, kind of, and the US ban definitely has something to do with it.
