Huawei Mate 20 Pro Is Part Of Android Q Beta Program Once Again

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is now back in Google’s Android Q Beta page, which essentially means that it is a part of Google’s Android Q Beta program once again. For those of you who are unaware, the Mate 20 Pro was removed from the page back on May 21, and we believe we know why it’s now back.

As most of you know by now, Huawei has been granted a 90-day general license by the US to continue working on its existing products, which is probably why Google reinstated the Mate 20 Pro in its Android Q Beta program.

Huawei is currently in hot waters, as the US basically banned Huawei from doing business with US companies, and after the 90-day grace period ends, the company will have some serious issues, or so it seems.

The US’ ban prompted Google and a number of other US companies to cut ties with Huawei, while it is also causing some issues with non-US companies as well. Huawei may even have issues compiling its Kirin chipsets because it is having issues with ARM (a UK-based company) as well, all because of the US ban.

Huawei has been the second-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world prior to the US ban, and according to reports, the company’s sales dropped quite a bit since then. We’ll have to wait for an actual detailed report from one of the market research companies in order to know what the situation is exactly.

Huawei has been striving for years now, and it was planning to overthrow Samsung, and become the world’s number one smartphone manufacturer in 2020. If these issues don’t get resolved quickly, Huawei will almost certainly face more damage in the future, and possibly even lose that second place to Apple once again.

The company’s CEO gave several interviews since the US ban, and tried to reassure users that there’s nothing to worry about. The company is working with Google as we speak in order to amend issues, and it is also preparing its very own OS if it comes to worse, and ends up being forced to step away from Android.

The reason for the US ban is of the security nature, at least that’s what the President Trump says, but many people think that there’s far more behind it than that, especially since President Trump said that Huawei’s ban could be resolved as part of a trade deal with China. Many people think that Huawei is being used as a bargaining chip for the trade deal, and nothing more, as the US still did not present any evidence of espionage or anything of the sort.

This is a very complicated situation, and it will hopefully end in the best way possible for all parties, but the damage has already been done to Huawei, and even if the company ends up being allowed to do business as usual, their plans are already messed up due to all of these issues. It remains to be seen what will happen with the trade deal between the US and China, and if Huawei and Google will be able to sort things out on the side, despite the US ban.
