It’ll be easier to import photos to Microsoft Office From your Android phone

Sometimes when major companies team up, the users win. If you’re a Microsoft Office user who also has an Android phone, then there is some good news coming down the pipeline. Microsoft Office will eventually closely integrate with Android so that you can import your pictures directly from your phone.

This is great, as it can be a bother getting pictures from your phone onto your computer. However, that may change. Full disclosure, this feature is not out yet, so you’ll want to keep that in mind.

If you’re using the web version of Microsoft Office, you will be able to test out this feature if you join the Windows Insider program. This is Microsoft’s beta testing program where you can test new features coming to Microsoft products like Windows 11.

Microsoft Office will let you import photos from your Android phone

This feature is currently only for the web edition of Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint. If you’re looking to insert some images from your Android phone, all you have to do is click on the insert menu and select the picture option. In the drop-down menu, you’ll see a mobile device option.

After that, you will see a small pop-up appear. Using your phone’s camera, scan the QR code that appears. Side note, if you don’t have the Link to Windows app on your phone, it will take you to the Play Store where you can download it.

After that, follow the on-screen instructions to pair your device to your account. Once you do that, you’ll see the pop-up populate with images on your phone.
On the bottom right-hand corner of the window, after you select your image, you will see the blue insert button.

Pairing your devices is a one-time thing. This means that you won’t have to scan the QR code and pair the devices every time you want to insert images.

There are some requirements you need to know about

In order for this to work, you do need to have an active Microsoft 365 subscription associated with your work or school account.
Also, if you’re using Firefox, make sure that you’re using version 104.0 or later. There aren’t any other requirements if you use a different browser.

At this plan, we’re not quite sure when this will roll out to the public. It’s currently in testing, so you may want to keep an eye out for this feature to know when it’s going to launch to the public.
