LG K8 2018 Gets Certified By FCC



The LG K8 2018 has passed through the certification process of the Federal Communications Commission. This means that the handset will likely be released in the United States in the near future. According to the documents submitted by the South Korean smartphone manufacturer to the telecommunications regulator, the LG K8 2018 can be identified through the model number LM-X210BM and it is compatible with 2G GSM, 3G WCDMA, and 4G LTE networks. Moreover, the smartphone supports LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7, and 17. Some of the LTE bands supported by the device are used by American carriers AT&T and T-Mobile. Other connectivity features of the LG K8 2018 include 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The LG K8 2018 was launched during the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona. The handset is powered by an unidentified quad-core chipset running at a maximum clock speed of 1.3GHz. The smartphone sports a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The LG K8 2018 also includes a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal flash storage, and it contains a 2,500mAh battery to keep its lights on. It is important to note that the battery of the smartphone is removable and that the handset also sports FM radio. The rear camera of the device is equipped with an 8-megapixel sensor while the front-facing selfie camera has a 5-megapixel sensor. The documents submitted by the device maker to the FCC states that the smartphone has a length of 146.3 millimeters, a width of 73.2 millimeters, and a thickness of 8.2 millimeters.

The device will ship with Android 7.1.2 Nougat pre-installed and it seems that LG’s proprietary skin runs on top of Google’s operating system. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear when the device maker will update the handsets to Android Oreo. Nonetheless, users of the LG K8 2018 will still be able to take advantage of features including the native support for split-screen multitasking and the “Quick Reply” functionality. The latter feature permits people to reply to messages and emails directly on the notification shade. Aside from the K8 2018, LG has also launched the K10, the K10 Alpha, and the K10 Plus during the Mobile World Congress 2018 late last month.
