More Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Details Confirmed In Reported Hands-On

More details on the Galaxy Note 9 have now surfaced thanks to a Reddit user who claims to have spent some time with the new phone from Samsung. The AMA post not only included details on the experience but also on the handset’s specifications and features. The person, who is known by the username Autopsy15, claims the smartphone’s SoC will be “similar” to the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 Plus – suggesting it will be the Snapdragon 845 and/or the Exynos 9810. The base model of the handset will reportedly come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Although the user did state there will be additional storage versions on offer and likely an 8GB RAM version as well.

Some of the other details stated in the hands-on post include optical image stabilization for the dual rear camera setup, a 4,000 mAh capacity battery – which apparently is expected to provide power for up to four-to-five days. Furthermore, while the device still sports a WQHD+ display, the screen will likely be around 10-percent brighter than the panel included with the Galaxy S9. The user also touched on the DeX support for the Galaxy Note 9, stating the device will work without requiring the DeX Pad or the DeX station with a representative apparently confirming owners only need to connect a USB Type-C to HDMI adapter to the handset to take advantage of the DeX feature. In terms of the software in general, the user likened the experience to the Galaxy S9, although did point out this might change due to the model experienced using pre-release software.

Some other tidbits of information included the already-suggested Bluetooth support for the S Pen, as well as confirmation the device will ship with exclusive game titles, including one high-profile game that runs on Vulkan API – the person did further mention Samsung has plans to support more high-profile game titles in the near future. The title of the game was not specified in the AMA, although recent rumors state that Fortnite on Android will initially launch as an exclusive to the Galaxy Note 9 for 30 days. For those wondering, the model encountered was said to be the “Deep Blue” variant – one of a number of color options expected to be unveiled when the Galaxy Note 9 launches.
