New Google Pixel 3 XL Video Surfaces Providing Hands-On Look

In short: A new video has now shown up on YouTube showing off the Google Pixel 3 XL. In spite of the phone still having not been officially announced, the video seems to be a full hands-on event and even shows the Pixel 3 XL compared to the Pixel 2 XL to provide some insights into the differences and similarities between the two phones.

Background: In spite of this being a fairly detailed leak and look at the new Pixel 3 XL smartphone, it’s only the latest in a long list of leaks. In fact, this particular one has come courtesy of Russian news outlet Rozetked, who did previously provide information regarding the origins of where the en masse leaks came from back in August. As for the new video, and in part due to the substantial leaks that have come through in the past, there is not a lot to comment on in terms of new information. For example, the video does show the already known notch on the front, as well as more bezel-less look in general. In addition to showcasing the back of the phone and the consistency of Google sticking with a single rear camera – although in the video it’s noted the camera bulge is a bit more bulging this time around. When compared to the Pixel 2 XL, the video-maker notes the two devices are extremely close in size and to the point of being identical, although the newer one does offer more screen. The video also confirms the inclusion of wireless charging – another point which had already been substantially suggested.

Impact: By now, there is virtually nothing left to know about the upcoming Pixel 3 XL as the device has leaked so much and to a level where this latest video is more for entertainment than actual informative purposes. It’s worth noting that only the XL model was shown off in this video and while it’s expected Google will once again launch a standard version of the phone, that too has equally leaked enough in recent weeks to where all of its specific features – such as a smaller size and lack of a notch — are also known. For anything that has yet to be disclosed about these phones, Google is expected to formally introduce them at a dedicated hardware event on October 9.
