New Huawei P20 Teaser Hints At Three Cameras, AI Features
The Huawei P20 and P20 Plus will be announced on March 27, which is something Huawei’s President of Mobile Department re-confirmed today via Weibo (Chinese social network). Huawei announced March 27 event a while back, and pretty much everyone assumed that the P20 and P20 Plus will be announced during that press conference, which was confirmed about a week ago, and the company’s President of Mobile Department now re-confirmed that info, that by mentioning ‘Huawei P20’ in a .gif image he shared via Weibo.
Now, in addition to that, this teaser also re-confirms that we can expect to see three cameras on the device, like a number of rumors and leaks suggested. If leaks are to believed, however, the Huawei P20 will sport two cameras, while the Huawei P20 Plus will include three cameras on the back. This teaser image that was shared via Weibo also mentions some ‘AI’ capabilities of the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus, which was to be expected considering Huawei has been putting great emphasis on AI lately, and the company’s Kirin 970 SoC is also AI-based. Huawei’s newest teaser also suggests that the P20 and P20 Plus will be quite capable in the camera department, especially in low light. The Kirin 970 will almost certainly fuel both of these devices, and we’ve already seen it in action, as the company included it in the Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and PORSCHE DESIGN Mate 10 handsets. Huawei will once again partner up with Leica when it comes to its P-series flagships, both the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus will come with Leica’s lenses, which is also something that a recent leak confirmed, even though we pretty much knew that it will happen.
If leaks are to be believed, the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus will sport a notch at the top of its displays, the Huawei P20 is expected to sport a front-facing fingerprint scanner, while the Huawei P20 Plus will either ship with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, or an in-display one. It is also possible that Huawei may remove that sensor in the P20 Plus altogether, though that’s not as likely. The Huawei P20 and P20 Plus will probably be made out of metal and glass, and chances are that both of them will ship with Android Oreo out of the box, and Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.0 skin.
