OnePlus 7T Series Gets Improved Slow-Mo Video & New Security Patch

The OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro are now getting improved slow-mo video, and some additional improvements via a new update. This update is rolling out to both global and Indian variants of the two devices, but under different versions.

Global variants of the device will be getting OxygenOS 10.0.9, and yes, this is a stable update. The changelog here is the same as it was for the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro.

Those two devices got this very same update quite recently, but under different OxygenOS variants, of course. The changelog is exactly the same, though. Let’s start with ‘System’ changes, shall we.

This update will optimize RAM management on the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro. It will also improve stability and fix a number of known issues, that have not been listed separately.

You’ll also get a new security patch after you update. OxygenOS 10.0.9 brings an Android security patch for March 2020 to these two smartphones. That’s pretty much it for the ‘System’ changes.

This update brings improved slow-mo video to the OnePlus 7T series

In terms of Gallery / Camera changes, there are three separate inclusions as well. First and foremost, the OnePlus 7T series will get an improved slow-mo video with this update.

On top of that, OxygenOS 10.0.9 will fix the random disappearance of screenshots in the Gallery app. That has been an issue for some users lately, and luckily OnePlus came up with a fix.

The last addition claims that it will fix any lag issues while playing videos. Some users experienced such issues while playing videos in the company’s Gallery app.

That’s pretty much it as far as this changelog is concerned. This update is already rolling out OTA (over-the-air), but it may take some time to arrive to your phone, as this is a staged rollout we’re looking at.

The update should roll out to everyone within a week or so

All of you should get this update within a week or so, presuming no additional bugs pop up. If that happens, OnePlus will halt the update altogether.

The OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro are still, technically, the best OnePlus smartphones you can buy. Their successors are right around the corner, though.

The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will become official on April 14, so in less than two weeks. The company announced that press conference quite recently, and it will be an online-only press event.
