The OnePlus 9E has been rumored to arrive as the least expensive member of the OnePlus 9 series, but it may arrive sporting a different name, the OnePlus 9R. This is something that Evan Blass is suggesting in a new leak.
Evan Blass went to the Voice platform to reveal the info. He managed to get ahold of some code that clearly reports the OnePlus 9R name. You can see that code in the image down below.
In this post, Evan Blass also wrote “Goodbye, OnePlus 9E/SE/Lite…”, and “hello, OnePlus 9R”. Soon after that happened, Max Jambor, another well-known tipster, shared his opinion on the matter.
Max Jambor was actually the person who revealed the OnePlus 9E name. He suggested that the device will be called the OnePlus 9E, and not the OnePlus 9 Lite, as some rumors have been reporting.
Max Jambor complemented Evan Blass on his leaks, but he said the following: “I wouldn’t put my hands in fire for the name of this smartphone”, while retweeting Evan Blass’ leak.
It seems like we’ll have to wait until the device launches in order to find out the truth. Speaking of which, the OnePlus 9E aka 9R is expected to launch in March. It is expected to arrive alongside the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro handsets.
OnePlus still did not confirm the launch month for these devices, so stay tuned for that. The OnePlus 9E aka 9R is still a mystery, though. Some details did surface yesterday, but take them with a grain of salt.
Yesterday’s leak suggested that the phone will feature a 6.5-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) display. That will be an AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and it will be flat.
The Snapdragon 690 SoC was also tipped, along with a 64-megapixel main camera. An 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera was also mentioned, and a 5,000mAh battery. The source also said that the phone will include 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
