New features have not been added at all in this update, but many people will appreciate the provided fixes. This update also comes with a new security patch, Android security patch for December 2019.

The first fix that is listed in the changelog takes care of a black screen appearing after unlocking the device using a fingerprint. That issue still plagued some users, but it should be completely fixed now.

The company also fixed the issue with the animation logo while rebooting the device. Device heating while charging has also been fixed with this update. The same goes for random disconnection issue with 5GHz hotspot.

In terms of system-related changes, OxygenOS 10.3.1 also improves system stability and fixes a ton of smaller bugs of the OnePlus 6 and 6T.

Now, as far as the camera is concerned, the image preview time in the Pro mode has been optimized. The company also fixed the camera crash issue that was still present.

The last entry in the changelog has to do with the phone’s Gallery. OnePlus has fixed the issue with video and images not displaying in the Gallery app. This issue has been present in the past as well, and while it was fixed to a degree, some users still had issues with it.

This is a staged rollout, so be patient

This update is already rolling out to the OnePlus 6 and 6T. Do note that this is a staged rollout, though, so it may not arrive to your phone straight away. If everything goes according to plan, all OnePlus 6 and 6T users should have it within a week or so.

The update is rolling out over-the-air (OTA), but you can update manually as well. You can download it manually and flash it on your device, though we do not recommend that if you don’t know exactly what you’re doing.

The OnePlus 6 and 6T were both announced back in 2018, so it’s nice to see OnePlus is still sorting things out on the two phones. Both devices got updated to Android 10 a while back, so such optimizations are always welcomed.

Android 10 rollout for the two devices did not go without its problems. The rollout had to be stopped due to some major bugs that occurred, and it took OnePlus quite some time to get it back up.

The latest version of Android is finally stable on the two devices, though, and this new update only improves things. So, feel free to download it now, if you haven’t already.
