POCO X2 Announced As A Rebranded Version Of The Redmi K30 4G



The POCO X2 has just become official, and as expected, it’s a rebranded Redmi K30. To be more specific, this is a rebranded version of the Redmi K30 4G, as it shares its internals.

The phone is made out of metal and glass. The only difference in terms of the design that you’ll spot, is the POCO branding on the back. Instead of Redmi’s branding, POCO’s is included.

The phone includes really thin bezels, and a pill-shaped display hole. There are two cameras included in that hole, and it’s placed in the top-right corner.

The device includes a flat display, and four vertically-aligned cameras on the back. It comes with a side-facing fingerprint scanner, while the volume up / down buttons are included right above it.

The POCO X2 features a 6.67-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is protected by the Gorilla Glass 5, and it supports HDR 10.

The Snapdragon 730G 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels this phone, while the device includes 6GB / 8GB of RAM. The 6GB RAM variant got announced in 64GB and 128GB storage (UFS 2.1) options. The 8GB RAM variant comes with 256GB of storage. All of those variants offer microSD card expansion, though.

Android 10 comes pre-installed on the device, along with MIUI 11. The phone includes two SIM card slots, and this is a hybrid setup, as you can use the second card slot to insert a microSD card.

A 4,500mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it supports 27W wired charging. The device comes with P2i coating for splash resistance, and the Qualcomm Aqstic WCD937x audio codec.

A 3.5mm headphone jack is also included, as is an IR sensor. The phone offers liquid cooling, and a 20-megapixel main front-facing camera (f/2.2 aperture). A 2-megapixel secondary camera is also included (1.75um pixel size, for portrait shots).

A 64-megapixel camera is the main sensor on this phone

On the back, you’ll find a 64-megapixel (Sony’s IMX686 sensor, 0.8um pixel size, f/1.89 aperture) main sensor. In addition to that, an 8-megapixel ultrawide (120-degree lens, 1.12um pixel size, f/2.2 aperture) camera is also included. The remaining two 2-megapixel cameras are here for depth perception, and macro photography.

The device measures 165.3 x 76.6 x 8.79mm, and it weighs 208 grams. The phone comes in Atlantis Blue, Matrix Purple, and Phoenix Red color variants.

Its three variants are priced at Rs. 15,999, Rs. 16,999, and Rs. 19,999 in India. The phone will go on sale in India (via Flipkart and Mi.com) starting from February 11. We’re still not sure if this phone will make it to any other markets. We are eagerly awaiting to see what will happen with the POCO F2, if it will arrive, and when.
