Pocophone F2 Could Just Be A Rebranded Redmi K30

A new POCO X2 aka Pocophone X2 leak has just managed to confuse everyone. According to the new information, the Pocophone F2 / POCO X2 will be a rebranded Redmi K30.

The Pocophone F2 may look the same as the Redmi K30

What does that mean? Well, the device will essentially be the Redmi K30 with slightly different software. POCO will include its own take on MIUI on top of the phone, but as far as the design goes, things will remain unchanged.

Specifications may be a bit different, but the general design, not so much. Do note that nothing has been confirmed yet, but the newly-leaked information seems to point in that direction.

Now, first and foremost, a hands-on picture with the POCO F2 surfaced. This image surfaced on a Polish site, and it seems to show the ‘About Phone’ section in the POCO F2’s settings.

As you can see in the provided image, the POCO F2 is listed as the smartphone model. You can also see that MIUI Global 11.0.2 is running on the phone, on top of Android 10.

If you take a closer look at the device, you’ll notice a pill-shaped display hole in the top-right corner. That’s the exact same setup the Redmi K30 features.

On top of that, the unboxing video of the POCO F2 surfaced recently, though it only showed the back side of the device. That back side of the phone looked identical to the back side on the Redmi K30. That’s why everyone thinks that the POCO F2 will just be a rebranded Redmi K30.

A video surfaced as well, showing some of the phone’s software. In that video, you can see that the model number of this phone is M1912G7BE. That model number, along with M1912G7BC, belongs to the Redmi K30 4G. That is yet another proof that this may be the rebranded Redmi K30.

The provided information also reveals that this phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 730G. The phone includes 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The company is rumored to announce three handsets

That being said, POCO is rumored to launch three devices this year. All those devices are expected to arrive to India soon. They’ll probably carry the POCO name there, and Pocophone outside of India.

It is possible that the POCO F2 Lite and POCO F2 will be mid-range handsets, while that third model may be a high-end smartphone.

We’re still hoping that the POCO F2 will not just be a rebranded Redmi K30. The POCO F1 / Pocophone F1 offered a unique design, and that was part of the reason why people loved it so much. POCO should just create something new for its second-gen handset(s).
