51599 Pre-Order Anker's Nebula Capsule II Powered By Android TV & Save $100

Pre-Order Anker’s Nebula Capsule II Powered By Android TV & Save $100

Anker announced its newest projector late last year, the Nebula Capsule II. It was put on Kickstarter for a bit, but now you can pre-order it on Nebula’s website, and save $100. The Nebula Capsule II would be $599 normally, but during the pre-order phase, it’s going to be just $499. For a portable projector that is running Android TV and has a 720p picture, that is a darn good price.

Pre-Orders will begin shipping June 1, according to Nebula’s website.

The Nebula Capsule II is an upgrade to the Capsule that was released a few years ago. It was a very popular projector due to the fact that it did provide a decent picture, and it was also portable, yet inexpensive. The Capsule could last for around four hours of video playback, while the new Capsule II drops to about three hours. Still pretty decent, considering the higher-resolution screen and brighter light.

Of course, the big feature of the Nebula Capsule II is going to be the fact that Android TV is built-in. Allowing you to use any of over 3,600 Android TV apps that are already available. This includes Netflix, Hulu, Google Play Movies & TV, YouTube and so much more. Unfortunately, Amazon Prime Video is not available, and that is largely due to Amazon and Google not getting along as of late. There are also some great games available on this projector, thanks to Android TV.

With Android TV built-in, that also means Chromecast is here. Being able to simply Cast your favorite shows from your smartphone to the projector, is pretty impressive, and a nice feature to have. It works the same as having a Chromecast plugged into a TV.

Sound is always an issue with projectors. Anker knows this and did something to combat it. This is a circular projector for a reason. And that is because the speaker is 360-degrees. This way no matter where you are sitting, you can hear the projector, and get the same experience. It also has a pretty large subwoofer inside, which offers some deep bass. Making it great for watching action movies.

There is a HDMI port on the back, beside the USB-C port for charging. With this HDMI port, you can plug in all sorts of things, like a PlayStation 4. Allowing you to play some great games while you’re using the projector. Now Anker says you can plug in the NVIDIA SHIELD TV too, but that runs on Android TV, the same platform as the Capsule II, so it may not be worth it. But you can also plug in your laptop too, and play videos from your browser or laptop.

The Nebula Capsule II is available for pre-order right now, and you can get it for $499. If you are looking for a rather decent Android TV-powered projector, then this is going to be a really good option. Remember that pre-orders aren’t slated to ship until June 1, so it’ll be a couple of months before you get yours in your hands. But it’ll be worth it.
