According to the provided information, the Samsung SM-G990B is in development. We cannot be sure, though, as the Galaxy S20 FE came with SM-G780F/SM-G781B model numbers, the G990 should be the LTE variant of the Galaxy S21.
The source points out that Samsung hasn’t launched LTE variants of the Galaxy S21. The assumption is that the company is trying to streamline things by bringing the Galaxy S21 FE model number in line with the standard S21 units.
When it comes to additional details, the source claims the phone will support 5G, which is a given. The Galaxy S20 FE also offered 5G connectivity. It also highlights that it will arrive in 128GB and 256GB storage variants.
Android 11 will come pre-installed on it, along with Samsung’s One UI skin, of course. The source also revealed the color variants that we can expect. The Galaxy S21 FE is expected to arrive in gray/silver, pink, violet, and white color options.
It is pointed out that the phone is expected to launch in the second half of 2021. That makes sense, as its predecessor arrived in October 2020. If the phone truly is coming, we’ll probably get more information in the coming months.
The device will likely ship with the Snapdragon 888, if its predecessor is any indication. We can, once again, expect ‘glasstic’ back to be included, along with a powerful spec sheet.
The Galaxy S21 FE will almost certainly undercut the Galaxy S21 in terms of pricing, that’s its whole point. Still, it will likely bring the most important aspects of the Galaxy S21 series. In addition to a great SoC, it’s also expected to offer a 120Hz refresh rate display, fast storage and RAM, fast charging (both wired and wireless), and much more.
