Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S Firmware Files Leak Again With New Info
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S firmware files leaked a while back, and thanks to that info we were able to find out some details regarding the phone, well, the phone’s firmware just leaked yet again, though we’re looking at an updated version here. In the previous leak, the phone was still referred to as ‘polaris’, which is Mi MIX 2S’ code-name, well, this time around, the leaked firmware actually refers to the phone by its real name, the Mi MIX 2S.
Having said that, previous firmware files revealed that the phone will sport a fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display, a 3,400mAh non-removable battery, Android 8.0 Oreo, dual SIM support and an IR blaster, while those firmware files also reconfirmed that the phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core SoC. Now, these new firmware files do confirm that the phone will ship with a dual camera setup, and those cameras will come with ‘AI features’. The phone’s camera watermark also leaked, and you can check it out down below, and as you can see, ‘AI dual camera’ is referenced here. Now, some additional info claims that the phone’s front-facing camera will be included below the display, which means that a render of the device which surfaced while back is not accurate. That render suggested that the camera will be included in the top-right portion of the phone’s display, creating a small notch there. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will also sport wireless charging, if the leaked firmware info is to be believed, as some wireless charging references were found in the leaked files.
On top of everything, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will also come with full support for Google’s ARCore, which essentially means that the Mi MIX 2S could offer some Augmented Reality (AR) features down the road. That is more or less all the info that was shared by the source. Those of you who are interested in the Mi MIX 2S should know that the phone will be announced on March 27, which is something Xiaomi confirmed a while back. The phone will get announced in China, though chances are it will be available in a number of other markets as well.
