YouTube Is The Latest To Block President Trump

It’s clear that Silicon Valley has had enough of President Trump’s rhetoric. As just about every platform has banned him in some form at this point. With YouTube becoming the latest to ban President Trump.

YouTube has not outright banned the President from using his account. But instead has banned uploads for seven days, and issued a “strike” against the account. YouTube has not confirmed which video prompted the action on the account. And the company did not provide specific details on the content of the video.

YouTube has said “After careful review, and in light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, we removed new content uploaded to the Donald J. Trump channel and issued a strike for violating our policies for inciting violence.”

The video sharing platform has also removed content from the White House’s official channel. Two videos were removed, which included one where Trump was talking to reporters and another with remarks he made at the border wall yesterday.

YouTube joins Spotify, Twitter, Facebook and many others in restricting the President

This is all part of the aftermath from the Capitol Riots on January 6. Which many believe were incited by the President. Who has continued the violent rhetoric.

Twitter banned the President on Friday night, which made the President go ballistic. Facebook and Instagram banned the President after the Capitol Riots. They aren’t the only ones that have banned him though. Shopify, which is the back-bone for his campaign store has banned him. Stripe is no longer processing campaign donations for the President. And even Snapchat and Pinterest have banned his accounts.

It’s something that many of us never thought we’d see. Most of the most popular platforms banning the President of the United States from their platforms. But given recent events, it is definitely necessary.
