Qualcomm announced two new mobile system on a chip, made on 14-nanometer technology FinFET Snapdragon Snapdragon 660 and 630. The first is already available for manufacturers of electronics, second release will take place at the end of this month.

Snapdragon 660 got OCTA-core CPU Qualcomm Kryo 260, clocked at 1.8-2.2 GHz and Adreno graphics controller 512. System 630 is equipped with Snapdragon OCTA-core chip ARM Cortex-A53 with a maximum frequency of 2.2 GHz and graphics Adreno 508. Both platforms offer support fast-charging technology Quick Charge 4, a data protection technology Qualcomm Mobile Security, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac Wave 2 and the possibility of software training. Both have dual-channel controller, designed to work with smartphones that have up to 8 GB of RAM LPDDR4. The older model 660 Snapdragon also works with mode 2×2 MU-MIMO.

Newcomers have installed cellular modem Snapdragon X12 supports communication modules LTE FDD, LTE TDD, LTE Broadcast, WCDMA (DB-DC-HSDPA, DC-HSUPA), TD-SCDMA, CDMA 1x, EV-DO and GSM/EDGE. Downstream data rate may reach 600 Mbps, the transfer rate back below and not higher than 150 Mbps.

To work with audio in Snapdragon 630 integrated digital chip signals Qualcomm Hexagon 642. The older model also got Qualcomm Hexagon 680 vector extensions (HVX).

Snapdragon 660 is compatible with built-in displays up to QHD resolution (2560×1600 pixels) and an external display format 4K. Snapdragon 630 is designed to work only with displays Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels).
